One of the things I enjoy coming to your yoga class is the way you breathe deeply, and your reminders to us not to forget to breathe. You always seem to know when someone is clenching their jaw or crunching their toes! It helps so much when getting into a position if I am tense and you remind us that we can “work less.”

Some things to know:

·         I believe that with God at the center of our practice, physical and emotional healing can occur.  I use Bible Scriptures, prayer, movement, worship, and breath.

·         Please arrive a few minutes early to give yourself time to settle in and meet everyone. Zoom Rooms open 10-minutes before the practice starts for community time, and I stop checking the Waiting Room for attendees 5-minutes after we begin. You may also use this time to ask questions, and let me know about aches, pains, or forms you want to practice.

·         Dress comfortably and modestly, and stay away from clothes that may restrict your breathing or range of motion. Clothing is required.

·         Either silence your cell phone or leave it in the car. For Zoom practices you may want to turn off your notifications.

·         Try not to eat a heavy meal prior to practice.  If you need to eat something, choose foods that digests quickly and easily, like some fruit, nuts or a little yogurt. Trust me--practice on a full stomach is no fun.

·         Please try to keep the practice area empty and clear.  Shift belongings to the side of the room.

·         Please do not disturb the class if it is in progress.  You may step out to use the restroom, drink water, and make yourself comfortable, but not at the expense of others. Zoom class participants are muted at the start of practice.

·         Keep water brought into the practice area closed.  No open containers.

·         Please do not wear any perfume, perfumed body lotions or other strong scents to class, particularly synthetic scents. Pure essential oils may be allowed in moderation, but please be sensitive to the potential for allergies in your classmates and teacher.

·         All classes require a yoga mat, block and strap. Mats, blocks, and straps are available to borrow, but supplies are limited. Use at your own risk. If you are borrowing supplies, please remember clean them before putting them away.

·         Use the Flip-Chips!  I will not make hands-on adjustments unless this system is being used. When this system is provided it allows you to accept or decline touch in each class. This is your practice, please be comfortable.

·         Amputees are welcome in my classes.  Please note that not all locations are wheelchair accessible, and some classes require students to be able to move from a chair to the floor with minimal assistance. Contact me for more information.

·         Please complete either a paper or Google Form “Student Registration and Waiver” form prior to your first practice with me.

·         Make sure to communicate any health concerns to me prior to your first class, and take responsibility for communicating any additional problems that arise. Remember, you are in control of your experience and how you participate at all times; I am simply your guide through suggested movement, worship and breath practices.

·         If you experience any changes in your heath, have surgery, obtain a new diagnosis, or suffer from any new injuries, please complete a new waiver. Your health information is safe with me.
